Details
Dolomite is composed of calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, however, the calcium is not available to the system. The reason is that the magnesium carbonate has to be released first and by the time the calcium carbonate becomes available, it is too far through the digestion to be of value. What dolomite is used for is to lower soluble urea levels in the system so that stress on the heart is reduced. The magensium in dolomite is an enemy of nitrogen. That is, it combines with nitrogen and releases it from the system, which causes a blood thinning reaction. When this happens, the soluble urea, which are nitrogen compounds, are reduced, thus lowering the stress that is caused by the excess undigested soluble urea salts that are harmful. When soluble urea levels go below 15, be very careful using Dolomite.
Also, some dolomite is high in lead. Be sure to know your source! Daily Manufacturing's Dolomite has been especially processed for low lead content and tested to confirm very low lead levels! It has NO fillers, binders, or other excipents.
